Ceraia (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Ceraia mobile application and website (ceraia.ai). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Account information: Name, email address, date of birth, and authentication credentials (including Apple Sign-In identifiers).
• Profile information: Photos, bio, location (city-level), gender, and dating preferences you provide during onboarding.
• Behavioral signals: Interaction patterns, swipe behavior, and feedback you provide through the app, used to train your personal AI agent.
• Messages: Communications exchanged between matched users.
• Device information: Device type, operating system, push notification tokens, and crash reports (via Sentry).
• Purchase information: Subscription status and transaction identifiers managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Matching: Your AI agent uses your preferences and behavioral signals to negotiate compatibility with other users' agents via the Sovelle Protocol. Raw preferences are never shared between users.
• Coaching: Pre-date coaching briefs are generated using compatibility scores (not raw preferences) to provide personalized conversation starters and tips.
• Service improvement: Aggregated, de-identified analytics to improve matching accuracy and app experience.
• Communication: Sending you match notifications, messages, and service updates.

4. How We Protect Your Privacy

• Agent-to-agent negotiation: Your raw preferences, behavioral signals, and attachment style data are never exposed to other users. Only compatibility scores are shared.
• Row-level security: All database queries are scoped to your user ID. You can only access your own data.
• Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Authentication tokens are stored securely on-device using platform secure storage.
• No data selling: We never sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Sovelle Protocol: Compatibility scores and negotiation outcomes are exchanged between agents. Raw preferences remain private.
• Service providers: Supabase (hosting), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Sentry (crash reporting), and Anthropic (coaching AI) process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
• Legal obligations: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Data export: You can export all your personal data at any time from Settings > Your Data > Export My Data.
• Account deletion: You can request account deletion from Settings > Danger Zone. After a 24-hour cooling period, all your data is permanently deleted. You can cancel the request within that period.
• Retention: We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, data is purged within 30 days from backups.

7. Children's Privacy

Ceraia is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. You can exercise these rights from the Settings screen within the app, or by contacting us directly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
