Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Ceraia mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Ceraia. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. The Pact

During onboarding, you will be asked to accept “The Pact” — a set of commitments to respectful, honest behavior while using the platform. The Pact includes:

  • Being honest in your profile and preferences
  • Treating other users with respect and dignity
  • Showing up to scheduled dates or canceling with reasonable notice
  • Providing honest feedback after dates to improve the matching system
  • Not using the platform for harassment, spam, or commercial solicitation

Violations of The Pact may result in reduced matching priority, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination at our discretion.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

  • Ceraia offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store settings.
  • Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policies.

6. Your AI Agent

Your personal AI agent is trained on the preferences, behavioral signals, and feedback you provide. The agent negotiates compatibility with other users' agents on your behalf. You understand that:

  • Agent matching is based on algorithms and may not always reflect your preferences perfectly
  • We do not guarantee any specific outcomes from matching or dating
  • You can reset your agent's learned preferences at any time from Settings

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Upload content that is obscene, defamatory, or violates others' rights
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or access other users' data
  • Use the platform for commercial solicitation or advertising

8. Content & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, text). By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and process that content solely for operating the Service. The Ceraia name, logo, and all related software are our intellectual property.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings > Danger Zone. Account deletion takes effect after a 24-hour cooling period, during which you can cancel the request. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or The Pact.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible for the actions, content, or behavior of other users.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ceraia and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, or data. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
